This work group should focus on the development of indicators for quantifying the progress of the preschool system. The responsibility for maintaining a database on these indicators would also be proposed by the data group. This work group will collect demographic data, and other data that will support the ongoing work of the other 5 groups.
The indicators selected should post measures for achieving goals in each component of the system as well as monitor progress toward goals. It should create a database on the children and families using the system so we monitor attachment to preschool and impacts from kindergarten and beyond.
The time intervals for collecting these various types of data should also be recommended by the Data work group.
The work to be accomplished should be staged into 2, 5, and 7 year goals.
