Orange County Preschool Planning Collaborative
About this Effort
The Orange County Preschool Planning Collaborative is an effort organized by the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) and Karen Hill Scott Company to support and pull together a collaborative of key community stakeholders, K-12 leadership, law enforcement, parents and local providers. Several leading Orange County organizations already involved in preschool development are participating on a Steering Committee that has been providing overall advice about this effort and who generously support the outreach for the planning process.
Participating in organizing this effort are:
- The Children and Families Commission of Orange County
- The Children's Home Society of Orange County
- Orange County United Way
- Orange County Child Care and Development Planning Council
- Orange County Community Care Licensing Agency
- Orange County Head Start
- Orange County school districts
- Orange County Social Services Agency
- institutions of higher education,
- and child care program operators
On this web site, you will find information on the schedule of public meetings, resources for preschool planning developed during this process and other features to support this broad based collaborative effort. You will be able to see how the early childhood, public K-12, parents, community based providers, and the business community will join together to create a strategic plan for preschool in Orange County-a plan that relates children's achievement and positive social development to the stability and productivity of Orange County as a whole.
