Families

We all worry about the ways schools, peer groups, and our media-driven culture affect our children.  Nonetheless, it’s clear that parents, and experiences at home, have the single greatest influence in a child’s life.

You lay the foundation, early in life, that withstands the tsunami of influences that will test your child.  You dispense the love and guidance that will enable your child to become a decent and productive human being.

Faced with that great magnitude of responsibility, what is a parent to do?  After all, you are in charge of it all—kids, pets, projects, education, sports, playgroups, carpools, doctor’s appointments, childcare, meals, laundry and lessons…  Becoming a parent is a huge shift that literally changes your reality overnight.

After raising four children, each with a personality as unique as their fingerprints, I have almost seen it all.  And what I haven’t seen, I’ve worked and walked with families who have.  Parenthood is the most fun you’ll ever have.  And the most work.

This page—dedicated to families and family life—is just one way that I’ve chosen to share my knowledge, resources, and experiences with you.   Look forward to our second site, oriented directly toward consumers, scheduled to launch in June 2008.

With my warmest regards,
Karen
