Our Work
Our consulting work is currently focused on supporting the development of leading edge child development systems. We have developed a signature strategic planning and development process that is scalable and versatile enough for use in any size locale. Our strength is in working with multiple stakeholders with divergent interests and shepherd them toward convergence around a super-ordinate goal. Our copyrighted consulting tools and templates are user friendly, easy to digest, and accelerate the momentum of systems development. For example, in Los Angeles County we worked with over 600 key stakeholders to develop a Universal Preschool system that will one day serve 150,000 children, making it the largest public preschool system in the country when it reaches scale.
We are known for being results and outcome oriented, while pushing the envelope on innovation. For the past three years we have worked with the David and Lucile Packard Foundation to support preschool planning throughout California. In a joint project with the American Institutes of Research we developed a comprehensive “tool kit” for local planners. When that was complete, we had a vision to create an electronic repository of everything anyone wanted to know about preschool planning and to open the door to anyone who wanted to do content creation through the site. The result is a portal and digital library, www.plan4preschool.org, that offers a customized search engine for wide ranging content about preschool, county showcase pages to profile new work happening throughout the state, a wiki-type document upload system, and an interactive database that profiles supply and demand statistics in any combination of zip codes throughout California.
Our approach is practical, yet grounded in data and theory, and draws upon best practices from multiple sectors, including management, finance, marketing, policy, and urban planning. We actively incorporate the use of cutting-edge technology in our work to deliver the best results for our clients.
